The beauty of Nefertiti and the mystery of the Amarna age is always a muse to me. Many of my paintings are inspired by Akhenaten, he seems to be in my mind quite often when it comes to creating. I decided to try a little different glimpse of Nefertiti with this painting...removing the famous tall crown and adding the round blue beaded crown she is seen wearing in a few reliefs. It is similar to the round crown Queen Tiye is seen depicted wearing in the small yew wood head that resides currently in Berlin (Egyptian Museum, Berlin, Inv.-No. ÄM 21834, ÄM 17852).
